Praia de Flecheiras - also known as Flecheiras, in the Ceará county of Trairí, is one of the most beautiful beaches in the state. Surrounded by dunes and coconut palms the beach has a wild beauty. The dunes in the area are perfect for sandboarding and buggy rides.
Distant 120 km from Fortaleza, the beach of Flecheiras is more a natural and unusual generosity of the State of Ceará. Located on the west coast, the main attraction is Pedra do Chapéu, a formation considered to be a tourist option, located 500 meters from the beach.
The name originates from Flecheiras Traíra tribe that previously inhabited the region. According to the natives, the women of this tribe were skilled in the handling of arrows, they were dedicated to fishing and hunting, in search of food for their families.
Currently the population is approximately 3,000 inhabitants, where the majority live from artisanal fishing.
The sea of the place is open and therefore the waves become stronger, which gives extreme sports enthusiasts an exuberant place for surfing and windsurfing.
